A Grook is a type of poem or proverb created by the Danish poet Piet Hein. Grooks are short, aphoristic, often humorous poems. They reveal, in a minimum amount of words and with a minimum amount of lines, some basic truth about the human condition. They are typically accompanied by simple line drawings.

Rules of Grooks  

  1. Short, aphoristic, often humorous
  2. Say something about  the human condition
  3. Optional, though encouraged, line drawing
